Anyone selling with Amazon?

I am currently on my eBay quest for the ability to go to a three day week.
I have a few books which, whilst expensive to buy, are a bit specialist and not selling.
I know you can sell via amazon but am a bit confused to how it is set up.
Do amazon charge the buyer for the postage? Do they take it out of your sale price? Is it worth the hassle?
The books I have retail for 30 to 40 quid.
However....if there are any GP's here wishing to expand their library!!!!

It appears to me that the seller lists a price for the item and also a price for P&P, which is then deisplayed at a later stage (hence the potential to make a killing on P&P if people don't check the amount). So, in other words, I think it's pretty much the same as Ebay.

I would assume Amazon charge a listing fee in the same way as Ebay.

You list the price you want for it, and amazon has a STANDARD charge for postage for different sections. This is a killer, as I sold an ipaq a while ago and because of its value, I got £5.01 for p&p but it actually cost me £20 to send it. You stuff is on the site for 2 months I think, or till it sells, but you aren't charged if it doesn't sell (unlike ebay)

That's how I read it and it put me off somewhat, so if I list it and sell it elsewhere, do I get charged if I pull the sale?

Nope, no charges if it doesn't sell, be that at the end of the 2 months or if you remove it! I find its better than ebay as the payments are much more reliable as amazon handle it all and so are responsible, but postage is a bit of a b@stard.

To prevent my abode from filling up with books, i have started selling the books i buy.

I buy them, say a hb novel, it costs £12.00. I read it.

A week later its sold for 8£ plus p&P and my book has cost a £5 to read.

I never reread books so it saves space.
