I noticed to my horror that the leather behind the rear passenger seats (the shelf area) has started to delaminate from what it was originally glued to, along with some of the leather on the rear pillars. It is becoming 'baggy' as though a balloon is being slowly inflated underneath the leather.

It looks to me like it needs removing and reapplying but unsure of the size of the job (how much of the car will need taking apart and if the leather is useable), and what I would expect to pay to have it done. Has anyone had this kind of work done and can comment on approx costs and any recommendations for companies in reach of t' north (Yorkshire) who have good form for this kind of thing? Aston Workshop springs to mind but after being told that their £7k quote for a front end and roof respray was akin to Robin Hood tactics, I am reluctant to go to them...

I can't give absolutes on this but a friend has his Vanquish going into aston works of beamish for new alcantara as the parcel shelf and other bits had seriously bleached over the years and he was really pleased with the price quoted by them.
Hopefully seeing him Saturday so can ask him then but I'm sure the quote was pretty good for re-trimming the affected areas.

Yes please. That’s what I has in mind. Thankyou.

Depending on where you live. Autoretrimm in Halesowen West Midlands has been used by several Aston owners including me.

I got a chance to speak with the lad who was having his parcel ahelf sorted in a Vanquish unfortunately he didn't know rhe cost (sorry) for the trim work as it was tied up with loads if other work he was having done in one price.
He thinks it was going to be about £900 but that was replacing some alcantara and refixing some leather works but he was guessing to be fair so can't really be if more help.
It was sort of tied up with refurbishing a rear subframe and lots of other stuff all getting done together

Thanks for trying to find out, much appreciated. I’ll speak to AW and have a run up there, any excuse!
