Threat to pension funds this week?
Discussion
I came accross this but I don't really understand the technicalities nor what the consequences on my pension savings would have been if the worst had happened, if any.

Defined benefit pension funds buy large amounts of Uk government gilts (bonds) as supposedly a safe predictable investment (they’re heavily regulated)
They are also required to hold various ratios of assets and have enough cash etc.
As Tory UKGov appear to have s*T the bed, this has crashed UK gilt bond values forcing the pension funds to crash liquidate assets. This risked market contagion / spillover.
