The bottom of the market?
I recall way back in the 2009/10 "crash" my better quality shares in the likes of PSN, BWY etc fell by over 50% just at a time when I needed the funds for a house purchase. I lost quite a sum - ouch.
Here we are in 2022 and my repurchased PSN, BWY, NXT etc which were all doing very well thank you have once again halved. This time though I have some funds from a very recent car sale. Trying to decide whether to sit on the side lines or drop some on my old favourites PSN, NG. AV. etc.
(not SYME, AVCT, SNG, CWR, EQT, CWR, PHE etc!!)
My own thoughts are that we probably have some way to go yet unless there's a sudden upturn in UK & world affairs. However when it happens it could be a very rapid rise again. Or maybe not. Pass the crystal ball.

A long way to go yet. Putin’s brinkmanship will take us to the threshold of annihilation and the global economy will come within a hairs breadth of meltdown before it’s rescued by donating billions to financial wizards.

Who knows - if the Ukraine war ends soon it could be another bonanza time, but then again if China could invade Taiwan and things could be much worse

As far as the UK goes, IMHO I think we are reliving the 1970's and I am looking forward to lots of strikes, rising and prolonged inflation eventually leading to an IMF bale out

Tough to call regards what happens next!

I’ve a fair bit invested with energy companies, shell, bp, Exxon.

None have faired badly the past while, down on recent highs.

I’m cut between cashing in to pay the mortgage off or wait for further gains.

Energy complexity only adds to the share price, recession…..not so much.

BofE are easing AND tightening now.

They’re fighting inflation AND trying to bail out, and somehow want to provide stimulus for an economic recovery.

It’s a paradox and you can’t achieve both outcomes.

Whatever this is, it’s quite clearly still going on.
