Not certain we've done this but there's a load of great stuff out there to remind us just how brilliant F1 can be. So post here anything that catches your eye.

I'll start the ball rolling with a couple from Patrick Depailler. The first at Montreal in conditions that would see the red flag out today!

And at Long Beach in '78.

Too many to link them all. However, there are some gems from bygone eras. I particularly like finding pre 1970 actual TV footage - which is extremely rare as TV companies tended not to record sports events and just show them live in real time. And if they did record them they later reused the video tape (it was an expensive commodity in those days).

Here's some practice footage from the 1965 Monaco GP (no commentary).

You'll be hankering for the good ol' days after seeing Pato O Ward drive a McLaren MP4/5B. The V10s and V12s of the late 80s and early 90s sound absolutely brutal.

Big Zeddie’s YouTube channel currently has (almost) all the F1 GP from 1979 to 1993 - showing the BBC Grand Prix broadcasts, plus a brief 1970’s British Grand Prix section, including Raymond Baxter & Graham Hill commentary.
Picture and sound quality varies according to year and location.

I find it almost depressing watching that. We're really lost so much, viscerally. Modern F1 live is so lame, despite the fact that they are actually going a lot quicker now.

Not a clip, so not sure if this counts.

Channel 4's Equinox program from the 80's about Fords first V6 Turbo F1 engine, both parts of the doc in one video. I remember watching this in the 1980's and being fascinated, also when documentaries were proper and not dumbed down, fascinating stuff

It's interesting to see he drives the old McLaren like he does a modern Indycar, the guys hands never stop moving lol.

Those BRMs made the music.

Big contrast the safety standards too, then and today - seeing someone casually on the footpath near a passing F1 car.

What could go wrong?
