I woke myself up the night before last, 29th September, with Helen Reddy's "I am Woman" playing in my head and it kept me awake until I got up. It has been in my head since, so out of curiosity I googled her this morning.

I have not thought of, or read anything about her or that song since she passed away on, you've guessed it, 29th September 2020, and was never a fan or knew much about her.

I now think I have psychic powers hehe

Who else has had similar spooky things happen that they cannot explain rationally?

From 2014-2020 I had a part-time job (in my retirement) of delivering manufacturers' demonstrator cars from a base near Banbury.

23rd May 2019 I was tasked to a job in Gateshead (where we lived 1956-1966) with a slightly garbled address along the lines of 'Head of Dept, Building F NE9* ***'

Arriving at the postcode, I found that it was Bensham Hospital so I phoned the chap 'Head of Dept' to ask where I should park it & meet him. Following his directions took me to a small garden with seating area and a parking slot under a window.

It then occurred to me that I recognised the small garden - I was parked under the window of the side ward where my father had died on the 23rd May 1973...

Yep. Quite often I will randomly think of a song I've not heard in ages and within a few hours hear the song played somewhere.

My Mum is 90 and lives in Upminster. Her sister is 91 and lives in Plymouth. For a long as I can remember, with startling regularity, they will find themselves at the same point on the same knitting pattern or on the same page of the same book. They each know when the other isn't well and know that the other is about to phone them before the phone rings. There is never anything physical that would prompt the other.

My mate's watch (an Omega inherited from his Dad who died a few years earlier) stopped working on the morning of his wedding to his first wife. Bugged him all day - couldn't even turn the dials. Later that evening, not only had it started working again but was telling the correct time. Marriage lasted about 6-months!

When I was 18, my best mate died. He was the first person outside of my family I got to know as a nipper. I didn't know that he died and was about 40 miles away when he did but at the precise time he died I felt almighty pain in my upper chest - sufficient to have me sat on the floor for five minutes. He died of an aneurysm in his upper chest!

I'm convinced that we are all connected in ways that science has yet to determine or explain.

The slightly spooky thing is that my other half asked me why I was singing it this morning and I told her it had kept me awake and jokingly said it was probably the anniversary of her death or something.

Then when I checked on google and found it was I was more than surprised, and she didn't believe me and said I was making it up and that I must have already known.

But I know I wasn't so I must have mystical powers smile

So your psychic powers amount to thinking about a song by someone on the 2nd anniversary of their death? smile

It's not spooky, it's Synchronicity

I have that now and then, wake up giggling like a loon hehe keep having fits of giggles for about an hour before I drop off back to sleep! It can actually make me feel really good and happy but I can never remember what set me off in a dream in the first place!

Maybe I've got a spooky comedian haunting my dreams yikes

Way back in the early days of social media (Friends Reunited was it, I think), I had a dream about a girl with whom I'd been at primary school 25 years previously, and that I'd not seen since.

Curious about her, I registered on Friends Reunited. There was one single pupil from my primary school registered on the site and it was her.

Yesterday I didn't bump into an old friend from school, someone I hadn't seen for 40 years. Nor was I thinking about "Song Sung Blue" by the Neil Diamond when Ken Bruce didn't play it.

A chap didn't knock on the door selling double glazing, just when I was thinking that some windows needed replacing and whilst in Lidl's car park I didn't park next to another RAV4 with a number plate just one digit from mine.

When you put it like that I guess it was just a coincidence.

But, do you believe in coincidence or is there something more sinister going on smile

Now that is weird, because exactly the same happened to me yesterday.

It's coincidence, when you think of the number of potential coincidences
that you could have during a day it's amazing we don't have more of them.

Holidaying in Chicago, the day after the flight I was wandering round a bookstore and the woman
before me in the queue had been one of the stewards on my flight.

My wife once was given a few weeks off work to recover from illness and decided to visit a friend in Barcelona. While she was there she bumped into someone from her office. Now, was that spooky or just Sod’s Law?
