My 55 reg E63 is delivering good ventilation to the passenger, and demisting the windscreen, but only a gentle mouse breath to the driver's side. Regassing the aircon has not made a difference.

Could anyone please offer an easy solution?

If I remember right there are two pollen filters and from your symptoms I would wager that the drivers side has not been done in a while. They are a doddle to change; this describes one side, but it is the same on both https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/MISC/BAS...

New filter installed...but still only gentle wafts from the driver's vents.

Any other remedial suggestions would be gratefully received.

Have you checked that the climate controls on the idrive menu are sending the full volume of air that way? https://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/601956/bmw-645c...

If the controls are set up how you want then it could well be that the vanes are faulty or the ducts blocked but I dont have any direct expierence of that. This page has intructions to remove the door side vent grill https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1623... and this is how you get at the centre.

Faulty ducting or a broken actuator that isn't redirecting the flow of air would be my guess.

In my ignorance, I hadn't thought to check the idrive climate control...but they are correctly set.

Thanks for the other pointers, it might well be a dashboard-off job.
