22 plate 240i xdrive.

Collect it Saturday.
Having spent a few weeks with a 2 series coupe, i realised i really liked the newer car- better handling, smaller size, overall far more modern.
Looking at specs, the 240i is actually quicker than the M6 up to about 120mph. Progress eh (plus 4wd traction).

Got a great trade in price at Cotswolds BMW, discount plus a bonus trade in deal made it cheaper to buy new (well a demonstrator with 1500 miles) than a used model - basically i think they gave me money off as they make more commission on new vs used car. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

M6 GC was superb - with lots of buts. Too fast to use properly without license losing speeds and really hard to put the power down even in the dry, big, really big at almost 5.1m , wide too, and pretty heavy on the gogo juice. Had my short time with it and enjoyed it, but think the 240i will be far more usable from a performance perspective and just a much easier ownership proposition.

Oh and it's purple.

What a move. Enjoy your new car. I agree M6GC is hard on fuel but brilliant in ever other thing. I have been unable to let mine go

Yes they are good. Not pushy, willing to negotiate, and they have a great classic BMW collection in their car showroom. Didn't screw me on the trade in either as they know they can sell the car again.

Will be sad to see M6 GC go, but i'm certain the M240i will be more fun.

Certainly will never get to £150 fuel fill ups with a 52litre tank like i did with the M6- hopefully.

Been very happy with Cotswold as they are my local. Had to go to Rybrook Worcester for my new car as Cotswold didn’t have the spec I wanted anytime soon.

Looking to move on from an M5 I'm curious what the trade in was. Also interesting to hear you're liking the smaller car - I would hope for better response and feedback in the smaller car.

Trade in was good - but my car is in mint condition so there are zero excuses for them to drop it lower, plus it's the 2nd car i've had off them.
I've still lost money - of course - but not as much as i thought, and as usual , they want to show trade in value lower ( less vat to pay) but gave me more off new car.

I got a trade in - plus some other dealer contribution discount applied against the M240i so it's worked out well.
