I got criticised for a thread resurrection last time I mentioned DM - so here you go smile

Sad to see them without Fletch - but a new album, & tour - and I'm liking the more guitar based track snippet

I have been a massive fan of Depeche Mode for nearly 35 years, Music for the masses was the first album of theirs I ever bought. I would buy every new album on the day of release, and it would be stuck in my car CD player for months.

However, I started to lose interest when they released Delta Machine, and Spirit was the first release where I didn't actually buy a copy on the day of release. To this day I have never actually listened to Spirit other than Where's the revolution.

I have also seen them in concert several times, including when they appeared on CD:UK but again having seen clips of their last tour, I don't really have any interest in seeing them again.

I just feel they lost it a while ago, and anything new they do is almost ruining the memories I have of them and seeing them in concert at their peak.

I’m pretty much with Joey Deacon above, have been a huge DM fan for years but haven’t bought anything much since Exciter.

I was fortunate enough to be serving in Germany for the SoFaD tour so caught them at Dortmund and then Berlin a few days later, they were absolutely awesome then.

I think I’ll try to see them in London if I can, I can’t see them doing another tour after this one..

Funnily enough (despite being a big fan,and starting the thread) I have similar thoughts

I'm done with tours these days. I have some friends egging me on to go to Twickers, but these days Gahan makes me cringe (arse shaking when nigh on 60 is never a good idea)

In their heyday they were epic; no doubt.

More recently -Exciter is OK, PTA meh, SOTU really Meh. Delta is excellent (you need to visit that again) Spirit - great in places

It's still a big thing for me though - after the usual wait! rolleyeslaugh

The ticket prices though ffs.

I first saw them play live on the Black Celebration tour at Wembley and was also at the SOFD gig at Crystal Palace.

In December my son and I went to see Dave Gahan and Soulsavers in London and have to say it was fantastic.

Ticket prices have gone crazy but having just got 2 tickets to see DM at Twickenham next year I'm really looking forward to it.

I had a few options. Seated tickets where I would not be able to see the band, standing tickets or pay even more for so called golden circle tickets.

I signed up to LiveNation for "advance" tickets which went on sale today. I don't like stadium gigs as a rule but I did want to see them.

£165 plus "handling" and delivery and whatever, put them into £175 territory. That's for standing in the main mob, not in the so-called "golden circle" near the front which were more expensive again. So, basically, watching a screen.

£700 for 4 tickets was a little salty, so I wasn't devastated when the website kept chucking me out.

I wouldn't rule out going to one of the European gigs if it's accessible enough and in a smaller venue.

fk that. I was going to try at 1000 tomorrow but that'll be around a grand with travel and food. I think the tickets were around €25 each when I saw them in Dortmund.

I've just had a look again out of interest and there is not a lot left.

When the Spirit tour sold out in 2017 they then released added several more arena shows in the UK.

They have already added additional gigs in Germany and Holland.

The above link shows that every gig on the Spirit tour sold out and generated nearly $200M!

They've started adding shows already -some mumbling about a 'World' tour only being North America and Europe too

I vaguely remember the mrs saying VIP front tickets were/are £350

Seen them 5 or 6 times now, the last being the Spirit tour in London arena.

IIRC it was more like £70 for a standing ticket, current prices seem a bit crazy.

I mostly go to hear the old stuff and haven’t bought the last 2 albums so will pass on this one I think.

Some great memories of past tours, especially the one with Nitzer Ebb supporting.

Well save my money for some smaller band / smaller venues I think, much more enjoyable than these big stadium things
