Streaming on All4 now - it's recreating an epic road-trip London to Singapore done in the '50's, in Series 1 Land Rovers.

This time they're doing it the other way, in one of the original vehicles.

Enjoyable so far, with some great footage of the original trip.

Worth a watch!

After watching Grand Designs last night, heard the Ch4 announcer mention this was available on All4 and thought it sounded decent. Watched the first episode and enjoying it so far. I thought this would be right up a few PH'ers street. Epic 13,000 mile journey from Singapore to London in a 65 year old series 1 Land Rover.

Series trailer below.

Excellent, I recently read the book that covered the original trip so will give this a go.

Shame that the “Old Boy” couldn’t make it. frown

Really enjoying this. What a great adventure. I'm particularly amused at the grandson who at least in episode 1 and 2 seems a bit of a disinterested millennial surrounded by the others who are really relishing the experience and adventure. Maybe its just being uncomfortable in front of camera? I'm sure he'll warm to the trip in time though.
Real shame for the old man. i'd love to see him fly in and re-join somewhere in coming episodes.

Just finished the series (of 4). It was nice to have a programme that both the wife and I could enjoy. It was a good mix of historical and modern day perspectives of the many countries that they travelled through; it was refreshing to see that they didn't sugercoat their opinions of the more oppressive regimes.
Watching them tear around (ok, not literally) the Turkish F1 circuit in an all Land Rover race was a bit surreal, the team certainly seemed to enjoy it.
