F11 M550d XDrive

I know they never did them in the UK, but does anyone know anything about them? Are they any good? I'm looking for winter car and although I'm not a diesel fan, in cars at least, I'm quite intrigued by the performance and the mpg..

Intriguing, but the idea of four turbos would put me off. Not the most elegant or simple solution.

Right you are. Still maybe a bit on the complex side. 535d isn't a slouch, especially if mapped.

My ideal would be a 440 Gran Coupe but they're a bit expensive. My winter car last year was 958 Turbo but I've always fancied a BMW.
