Non post apocalyptic or dystopian science fiction
Discussion
I have never seen an actually good science fiction film… books are where it’s at with Sci Fi.
Even if a good book is adapted it’s turned into a big standard action/explosions bore, just set in the future.
Although having said all that, I’ve just remembered a very very good one.
Arrival.
Ted chiang’s books are top quality.

I can see where you are coming from having read shed loads of Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov and Iain M. Banks. Even if a good book is adapted it’s turned into a big standard action/explosions bore, just set in the future.
But also really like seeig thing on the big screen like:
Moon
Silent Running
The Martian
Contact
Tron Legacy
Gravity
Ex-Machina
I really like the space stuff
