What game have you played the most over the years
Discussion
Regardles of age of game.
For me probably Grand Prix 2, Falcon on Atari ST, Automobalista (current) and Boulder Dash on the 8 bit.
Spent hours and hours on GTA also I think across the years.
Must have spent days as a kid playing text based adventures (Infocom and Magnetic Scrolls games). Ah Infocom ... when all you needed was imagination.
Any game that you consitently go back to?
For me it's Robobtron 2084 but only for 5 mins then I remember how rubbish I am.

In terms of hours played, probably Left For Dead 2. I think Steam tells me I’ve got over 3500 hours in that, however, that’s because it plays on almost any old hardware like laptops when travelling and it can be picked up and put down in half hour bursts.
I’ve also sunk a huge amount of time into Elite:Dangerous in the early years. I also played many many hours on 8 bit Elite in the 80’s so aggregate that probably edges it.
I was late to the console party, Horizon:Zero Dawn probably has most hours logged.

Since I started gaming, Microsoft Flight Simulator from v3 in 1988. Started transitioning to X-Plane with v9 in 2008 and have been exclusively X-plane since V11 in 2017.
I have several thousand hours in DCS, since getting back into military flying sims in 2012.
According to Steam I have 800+ hours on Command: Modern Operations since release in 2019, with who knows how many on CMANO before that.
But, I guess not many of those count as 'games', so I'd say the original Doom & Doom II, the GTA series, and Gran Turismo, from 1- 6, though I barely touch it these days (don't even know where my PS is). What finished it for me was that every time I thought I'd jump in for a quick race, there would be a huge update (same reason I haven't touched the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator). Eventually I just stopped bothering.
Oh, and Minecraft, how did I forget Minecraft. Still play a lot with the kids, as we work on projects together, even when I am overseas, it is a good way to chat and spend time together, without the awkwardness of forced conversation which sometimes presents itself during a FT call.

Probably around the same for Command but for the whole series god only knows. Hooked after spotting Harpoon in a little computer shop in 1989 ( Amiga ) later bought all the Battlesets and have had every version since. It's the ultimate time destroyer.I have several thousand hours in DCS, since getting back into military flying sims in 2012.

Football Manager I've lost countless hours to (actually not countless thanks to Steam telling me!). Roller Coaster Tycoon as well is another one.
Online I've played Torn City since 2004. Had a bit of a break around 2015ish and deleted my account, but joined again around four and a half years ago. Become a bit obsessed with it at times.

Almost 1100 hours of em across the 2.The game I've played the most is Phantasy Star Online, I've probably sunk 3-4000 hours into it over the years. I don't play it too often now bit still find myself going back to it occasionally.
More recently my go-to has been Monster Hunter (World and Rise). I'm hopelessly addicted to it

I dread to think how many hours I've spent on the original Star Wars Battlefront 2. It must be into the thousands, my brother and I absolutely played the life out of that game. Splitscreen galactic conquest could keep us occupied for a good six-hour sitting.
Advance Wars Dual Strike gets an honorable mention, 157 hours and that's only in the past couple of years. I had a pirated copy on my M3 card when I was still in infant school and yet I'm still not bored of it in the slightest!

Diablo on PS1. Myself and friends carried out multiple 36hr stints back in the day.
Letting my 10yr old loose on Diablo three on the switch and we’re having a riot playing together rampaging through the levels
An honourable mention goes to C+C Tiberium wars for epic multiplayer carnage.

Football manager in various yearly iterations, although nothing this year
just lost interest. First time i've not bought the current version in over 20 years all the way back the CM days.
Currently play a lot of Anno 1800 and very occasionally will drop onto Red dead redemption for a quick half hour
