I was wondering if anyone could recommend dealers with an eclectic selection of interesting stock that you know would only sell a good car.

I'm thinking about my next car and I think I'd prefer to pay a bit more to get a really good example from a dealer than risk the private market (I bought my TVR from a well known specialist and it has been a great, reliable car). That said, I don't think buying from "Prestige Autos Limited" in a back alley gives you that guarantee. I'm talking the sort of dealer you could be pretty confident buying sight unseen.

I also have a wide range of things I am considering and like the inspiration.

For example, HPC Classics in the TVR world is well known as being a decent bunch and they have interesting stock in addition to TVRs - at the moment a Dodge Viper, an F80 M3, a Jaguar XKR.

Always like looking through Alexander’s Prestige stock.
Whilst never dealt with them, I’ve spoken with them a few times and have the impression of a trust worthy company.

Benz bavarian near me often has some interesting stuff when I drive past and has an excellent reputation locally. Mate of mine got their i8 from them about 5 years ago

Often has usual tat like Bentley Continentals or range rover sports, and then stuff like rsq8, phantoms and a few lambos and TVRs thrown in

Maybe not the right price bracket for you, but bought my previous Porsche from Maundrells and they were great and have some interesting stock in every now and then

A lot of very nice cars in the links above, thank you - though most above my anticipated budget! Nice to window shop thoughsmile

Cousin bought his cayman from them a good few years ago - was a good experience and they were a nice bunch of folks.

Really depends on what you are looking for and what the budget is, but I can personally recommend The Octane Collection. www.theoctanecollection.com

They have 4 'brands' under one roof.

1. The Octane Collection
2. Millennium Heroes
3. Fast Classics
4. Great British Classics

I have purchased and sold vehicles with them and have sold a couple on an SOR basis too. In my expeirence, they only stock the highest quality vehicles with the provenance and history to match. They are also great if there is a problem, taking responsibility and sorting it out.

I can also say the same for Contemporary Classics in Woking. Greg is fantastic, only holds a small amount of stock, but they are again very high quality, and also preppared to a very high standard. I have also bought and sold cars to them and highly recommend them.

Personally I am looking at sub 40k (probably in reality sub 30k) modern / modern classics for using and enjoying (rather than garage queens / investment) but it is an interesting thread to see other recommended dealers.
