False reading likely caused by a car coming in the opposite direction. Not necessarily exceeding the limit.

"We asked Dorset Police why Blair received a speeding ticket and if there is any faults with the speed camera in Barrack Road.

The spokesperson said: “We are unable to go into the specific circumstances of this particular incident and the reason for the fine being revoked.

“However, we can assure members of the public that the camera involved has been thoroughly checked and we are confident there is no fault with the device.”

Translation: Fecking hell! They nearly busted us. Let's put out the usual bamboozle disclaimer and hope it gets brushed under the carpet!

No fault with the device, just a fault with the thousands of speeding tickets it has given out in error!

He's very familiar with the area because he lived in Bournemouth for two years and left in 2001...22 years ago. What a silly comment considering how much things would have changed in that time!

Interestingly I live in the area and have 3 or 4 times now, seen this type flash when it would have been impossible for either side of the road to be speeding.

I was once crawling through it when it flashed at like 2mph and was half expecting to get an automated ticket given it flashed.

The cameras are relatively new.
