Do you prefer the looks of the new G87 M2 or the G82 M4?

The majority of people on here don't like the looks(front grills etc) of the G82 M4 and it always gets a bit of a kicking. So do you prefer the looks of the new G87 M2 instead?(which also seems to be taking a kicking on here). I'd buy either of them because I'm used to most BMWs not being that great to look at, and I can get past the way they look because I've always liked the way that they drive.

But what about you? Or would you swerve both and buy something else that is more easy on the eyes?

If I had to choose, I'd buy the M2, but the previous gen M2 is a much better resolved design .....

I wasn't sure about the M3-4, but now I've seen some in the metal, I actually quite like them. Really don't like the look of the M2 though!

This - between the two I prefer the M2, but it's not exactly pretty either.

New shape M3/ M4 for me currently over the G87 M2- I really don't like the shape of the front and rear bumpers on the new M2.

No matter how many times I look at the G80/82, I cannot grow to like that front end. Its awful. Yes some designs are divisive and as time goes on, they become acceptable ... just not in this case. I have criticised all variants of M3 apart from the E46 on release ... it appeared so more aggressive looking than the E36 ... the E90/92 lost some of that aggression .... the F80/82 gained it again. All IMO of course.

The F87 is/was a looker ... bulges in all the right places etc but the design wasn't 'that' far away from the F80/82 .... the new one is certainly bold and not looking anything like the G80/82 is a good thing in my book. I see the new M2 as a grower ... I personally like it from the images online ... I reckon in the flesh its gong to look great. I've seen enough 240i's to know I like the design.

Prefer the new M2. No beaver-face grille and it's usefully smaller than the whale-sized M4.

Nope, me too. I bought my M2C on the basis of best bang for the buck and it’s growing to really like it (taken a while), but the wider BMW food chain and model ethos baffles me. Doubt I’ll buy another (they didn’t want to sell me an M4 CSL, which I did ‘get’)

Something far less mainstream next. If I bother
