What to do about car that is SORNed but...
Discussion
....has a puncture.
Passenger side tyre is clearly damaged as it has gone flat not long after pumping it up having found it flat before. It's my summer/weekend car that doesn't get driven that much, so I hoped that maybe it had gone flat the first time through lack of use, but no, it's flat again.
It has been SORNed since end of Sept, and I wouldn't usually tax again until the spring. But I imagine it's a bad idea to leave it on a flat tyre for 6 months! Corvette Z06 with huge expensive tyres so I don't want to ruin it.
The place I take it for servicing etc is not far from me at all; are there any rules around driving an untaxed car a short distance for a repair like this? Don't really fancy paying a month's worth of tax to fix it, but then I risk having to buy a whole new tyre if I leave it?

Remove wheel.
Yes I did think this, issue I have is that where the car is parked is in a fairly tight spot in the garage, with said wheel right up against the wall. Although now I type that I guess I could actually just keep the other car outside for a while and put the Corvette in the middle of the garage while I take the wheel away.
Thanks, didn't really think this through entirely until just then, sometimes the answer is right in front of you. Best plan of action then I think.
