I am not local, so asking for any local knowledge.
Driving last night 3am, heading home to Kent, heading towards M40, along the A45, the big DHL on my left, I think I passed under a flyover, had two flashes, it’s a 50mph road I know,
It was dark and not concentrating, might have been doing 55-56 roughly.

Doing a little research online, West Midlands Police turned off all cameras to save money, is this still the case? Now only use average speed cameras in certain areas,
Also on a Police website you can see all the calibrated cameras, and the hand held ones, all up to date on the M6/M62/A46, but nothing on the cameras on the A45?

Just hoping for a miracle
Otherwise the dreaded 14 day wait
Thankyou

I'm fairly sure that camera is live - in fact I think it was replaced not so long ago. Beautifully placed on a down-slope also...cynical, moi??

Yes on their website they listed the cameras, and the calibration certificates, but none shown for the above camera,
I’m just thinking, if they were not in use why would they flash twice?

That camera is the only one that does work on that particular stretch of the A45. I know a few people with tickets from that one

That one still works I believe.
My other half got a ticket from it recently.

Off topic, but shouldn’t you have been heading down the M1 for Kent?

Numerous junctions closed on the M1
So massive detours

As above that one works. Sit and wait time..

Per others comments it's on a deliberate downhill slope and normally you're already looking at that very busy joining slip!

I think that camera (or the one on the otherside) was the most lucrative in the country a few years ago.

But such a dangerous road, oh no junction, oh no wait.............pff

Unlucky OP
