I am looking ofr some new frying pans - need to be oven and dishwasher safe.

Last time I bought pro-cook V pro and they are ruined a year later - most likely due to my son insisting on cooking everything at a million degrees.

any suggestions?

For the price I find that Ikea 365+ frying pans really take some beating.

sadly not dishwasher safe and after a year of handwashing frying pans we are ready for a change!

Nothing non-stick will be sold as dishwasher safe but ours has been through the dishwasher dozens of times without an obvious problems. At that price I don't mind if its needs replacing every so often anyway.

Buy a Le C frying pan. OK hand wash, but a very easy hand wash, and when it wears, and they all do, they will (after blaming you!) send you a new one. I'm on cycle 4 IIRC smile

that isn't correct, lots of non stick pans are advertised as dishwasher safe, as an example

Le C say you can, but it's better not to as it does degrade the coating.

If you're going to put big heat into them, then go black iron, because no non-stick will withstand it.

I am attempting to educate him through percussion engineering into cooking with the appropriate heat.

I've got some cast iron pans and tbh for anything other than the wood oven they are a bit of a faff.

Black iron are much wieldier than cast iron. Worth a look. Cheap, too, unless forged on a Scandinavian Maiden's knee etc!

I only ever wipe out the frying pan with kitchen towel. never wshed it. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/6149288?clickSR=sl... I have had it for 5 years or so. It's still as good as new. Only ever used for bacon and eggs though. When browning / sealing meat we use a stainless one, that is not non stick, and just chuck that in the dishwasher.

Yes, I run 3 of them, they're good.

Another option is Nisbet's own brand Vogue pans - I've been very very impressed by my saute pan from them.

Nah, I only use cast iron on a ridged griddle pan as it's too heavy for regular use IMHO.

I've got one of these for cooking steak, I'm still working out if if I like it or not: https://www.lecreuset.co.uk/en_GB/p/cast-iron-squa...

Still learning how to get it right I think.

Yes, I have similar. Great boon is the big heat you can put into it for a real sear.

Be aware that if there's a flaw in the casting and you put it on your new induction hob and crank it up, it can shatter and make a noise not dissimilar to a plane crashing through the roof.

Ask me how I know eek

Haha, well, good to know, but I've had it for nearly a year now, and I do have induction hob, and no disasters yet. That said, I have had a couple of times when the pan has obviously got too hot and I'm suddenly getting error flashes from the hob.......yet when I put the steak on the pan, I still feel like it could be hotter!

Anyway, I think I'm hi-jacking the thread! Oops.
