Just posting to vent as there is nothing else to do currently.
Our car (A6) was stolen just before 3am this morning.
I woke to a notification on the Audi app which was weird so checked the ring app and looked out the window and the car wasn’t there. Looked on the ring app and it just skips nearly 5 minutes. Car is there and then its gone.
Looks like they have got through the garage, picked back conservatory door lock and took keys plus our wallets/cards.
Mrs BB was due our 2nd baby Sunday and both car seats were in the car . Couldn’t of happened at a more inappropriate time.
Insurances called, gap will be called as soon as they open. cards cancelled. So annoying.

s I used to live in Olton so know it well - sorry to hear this and especially the terrible timing with seats.
Sounds like they did use a signal jammer/blocker for the Ring Ring Doorbells Can Be Jammed (& How You Can Prevent This)
It'll all get sorted though - best of luck with newborn.

This is interesting. Does Ring habitually do this, or have the rogues worked out how to hack it?
It's wifi IIRC so can be blocked with a suitable jammer. You need hard wired cameras for better security.
Sorry to hear about your theft and there's never a good time for it but with a baby on the way I feel your pain
We're not far from Solihull (Brum) and the same happened to us last year, they jimmied the side gate (took the securing plate from the post), then tried to jimmy the conservatory door, failed and got in by jimmying the window frame. took the car keys from the pouch on the stairs and off with two cars.
Have since got an ADT alarm and a security bollard (also got a few ring cameras).
Good luck getting the car replaced. Can't imagine the stress this is causing just before having another baby.

Hey lads
We do have cctv fitted but the installer didn’t leave the password so we are currently trying to find master/admin login from manufacturer.
The ring is hardwired to electrics but yeah still connected via wifi.
Forensics coming soon but its just so f
king annoying.
House keys with car keys so all locks need changing now. New garage door? Wallets took so got no money/cards etc.
We’ve been offered about 50 car seats , just need a motor now lol

OP - Sorry to hear about your car, particularly at such an anxious time. Hope the police/insurance co. sort things for you quickly and you are soon back on the road.
Got a couple of these at mine with 32GB SD Cards in them:

Or cameras that record to an SD Card and then upload to the cloud when signal is restored. You need hard wired cameras for better security.

Does the Audi app not locate the car?
The thief will have used a device on the ODB port that will effectively "Wipe" the settings. When our cars were stolen the Police arrived about 15 minutes later and the cars were still showing as on the drive according to the App. So wiped / reset before they even left

I think that is what woke me. I had a notification from the Audi app for a SOS fault and thought it was odd which then made me check. Checked location and said couldn't find .
It looks like it hasn't been on or moved for 11 hours on the app. So not long after it was nicked. Also says vehicle is not parked safely and front left window is down.
We appear to be getting a courtesy car Thursday. Emergency home cover only replace the lock which was snapped. So 1 of the conservatory french doors has a new lock , we need to sort the other.
Getting someone out now to replace the front door lock and interior door. Will see if they can change the garage locks too.
Insurance and gap all called and sorted so just have to wait now. The car was year 1 into a 3 year lease
I would upgrade the locks to anti snap ones and also upgrade the handles (or something like a lock lock that removes the cylinder on the exterior). If you are feeling particularly cautious then refit the safety glass which is likely to be toughened only (as opposed to laminate) for extra security as some of these types will smash it. Toughened glass won't make a lot of noise when broken, nor leave cuts....
You may also wish it to be an opportunity to reduce keys like we did with them being keyed alike.
From what you are saying this is a classic get to the back of the property where security is generally weaker for a number of people.

Sorry to hear of this, I'm Olton based aswell and had my C7 RS6 stolen last October, you may have heard about it tbh!
There is a Facebook group called Stolen Midlands, post it in there if you can. They have found cars at times, mine was located via tracker in Moseley a few hours later.

Cheers lads and thanks for not being condescending like I know many threads can turn into. Should of would of could of aye
Done all I can in the interim i guess. Locks changes for what we can. Front door was Ultion lock anyway but as keys were with the car keys we've had to change the lot.
Just waiting on the password for our CCTV still but not holding any hope. Will have to speak to the guy and see if there is a factory reset we can do even it means losing this footage. at least we are sorted in the future.
I'm also half thinking no matter what lock was in place , the car was off. Shame, although it was only a personal lease car, I f
king loved driving it.
Courtesy car due Thursday but I have a feeling Mrs BB won't hold out that long.
I've been good not drinking in the week for a month or so now but I think I'm going to have one tonight. Can't decide if I am tired or stressed or both.
I did hear EmilA. Did you get it back ok in the end ?

Really sorry to hear that.
I’m near you and the ‘Leos’ (https://twitter.com/LeosWMP) were pretty proactive when our neighbours cars were taken a couple of months back, canvassing a large area and getting cctv footage.
Also, I’ve got a couple of Maxi Cosi Rodi (group 2/3) car seats in the loft if one would be any use to you?
Sorry Cheesecake I missed this earlier. Thank you so much for the offer. We have been offered several car seats but no one is willing to lend us a car yet I’m near you and the ‘Leos’ (https://twitter.com/LeosWMP) were pretty proactive when our neighbours cars were taken a couple of months back, canvassing a large area and getting cctv footage.

Now dust has settled I think we will be OK until Thursday. Its just annoying and frustrating.
