What's the best slightly warm automatic car for £14k?
Discussion
Hello, looking to see if you people can help me. I'm looking for a new car myself and ideally looking for:
- an automatic
- Petrol
- Slightly sporty
- Reasonable mpgs, so say >38mpg
- nothing too old
- Ability to add android auto
I'm sure there will be lots of good options put forward from the obvious brands, but here are a few slightly more left field ideas. I've stuck with medium sized hatches/saloon sized cars. Some of them come in with plenty of budget left over.
Alfa Romeo Guilietta 1750 TBi QV TCT
SEAT Leon Cupra 280 DSG
Infiniti Q30 2.0T Sport DCT AWD
MINI Paceman Cooper S ALL4 Auto
Hyundai Kona GT 4WD DCT
Kia Soul 1.6T Sport DCT
Nissan Juke Nismo 4WD CVT
Subaru Levorg 1.6T GT Lineatronic
Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 Sport CVT
Volvo V40 Cross Country 2.0 T5 AWD and the V40 2.5 T5 Auto
Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GS Ralliart Sportback SST 4WD
Peugeot RTZ 1.6T GT THP
Alfa Romeo Guilietta 1750 TBi QV TCT
SEAT Leon Cupra 280 DSG
Infiniti Q30 2.0T Sport DCT AWD
MINI Paceman Cooper S ALL4 Auto
Hyundai Kona GT 4WD DCT
Kia Soul 1.6T Sport DCT
Nissan Juke Nismo 4WD CVT
Subaru Levorg 1.6T GT Lineatronic
Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 Sport CVT
Volvo V40 Cross Country 2.0 T5 AWD and the V40 2.5 T5 Auto
Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GS Ralliart Sportback SST 4WD
Peugeot RTZ 1.6T GT THP

Is that a t3? They look quite decent. The Volvo V40 is a great hatchback, one of the best looking too and often overlooked. I'd describe the T3 as lukewarm by today's standards. The T4 is probably warm and the T5 is approaching hot but not quite up there. 2.0 T5 Cross Country would be my choice and came close to buying one.
The T5 must be a bit of a beast

Hello, looking to see if you people can help me. I'm looking for a new car myself and ideally looking for:
2.0T Infiniti Q30 Sport as you know this is an A250 in everything but the sheet metal so the Interior is a step up from everything else listed.- an automatic
- Petrol
- Slightly sporty
- Reasonable mpgs, so say >38mpg
- nothing too old
- Ability to add android auto

Giulietta Quadrifoglio underrated reliable & a nice steer too:

This one will have a years warranty with it:

Volvo V40 T5 R Design Lux:

Megane GT Nav:

A leftfield option is the last of the line 2.0T Insignia Elite Nav 260 they tick everyone of your boxes (they have Android Auto/CarPlay as standard) you'll see high 30's on a run, they're quick steer well & are also AWD:

I'd take one of these over a VRS Octavia as they're better NVH nicer fit & being just as good of a drive with a smidge more go would edge it. BUT they're hard to find and a smidge over budget.
If you're happy with this size of car then here are the other options.
Octavia VRS:

I believe Volvo topped the reliability surveys jointly with Kia recently. Know which I’d rather gave.
This one is at £9,995, very unique spec too. V40 Cross Country 2.0 T5 Pro AWD Auto Polestar. Has the Polestar optimisation pack giving it 270bhp. Has the a great interior, cream seats with copper, better than the Darth Vader interior in the German hatches. There are quite a few other T4s and 5s.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2022101507...
