Decent black garlic has a very different flavour to fresh garlic, I wouldn't use it in place of normal.vloves as it would be a waste. Its best to use it where you want its unique flavour to stand out.
Out of interest, where did you buy it and how much was it, I'm after some myself and don’t have the setup to make any. All I'm finding in the usually shops is smoked garlic.
