First time I’ve ever seen this stuff so I bought a bulb. It says that it is sweeter than standard white garlic and now I’m thinking what to do with it. Has anyone used it and got any suggestions?

I’ve used it before, just use in place of regular garlic, does give a nice sweetness to the dish.

Yeah but I’m thinking some dishes you use normal garlic in would overpower it. I’m thinking a light garlic and herb pasta sauce maybe

Decent black garlic has a very different flavour to fresh garlic, I wouldn't use it in place of normal.vloves as it would be a waste. Its best to use it where you want its unique flavour to stand out.

Out of interest, where did you buy it and how much was it, I'm after some myself and don’t have the setup to make any. All I'm finding in the usually shops is smoked garlic.

That’s what I was thinking. They sell it in sainsburys for £1 a bulb in a box

Yeah just seen that looking online. I definitely didn’t pay that it was £1 and next to the organic garlic etc in the veg aisle

I've only seen black garlic on the shelves not by the fresh garlic, I know smoked garlic is in the veg section. I'll take a look
