V Check not recognising a registration at point of purchase
Discussion
I've seen a car I like.
Ran the registration through the .gov MOT checker and it's spotless.
Ran it through the VED check, it's taxed and MOT'd.
Typed the registration in the V Check search and the right colour and car comes up. Attempt a full check and get this:

Anyone had this before and what was the reason?

Sounds more like a private plate change as you say. Seller is the second owner according to the advert so this must be the plate change ahead of its sale rather than them buying it two weeks ago. Auto Trader advert posted almost a month before the log book change. Can you update photographs in your advert on AT?
I'll give them a call tomorrow.

I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Yes you can, personally i woudn't advertise my car until i had the V5 back with the original registration - Some people do and expect people to wait for paperwork. Some buyers will want to drive away same day. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
