Hi thanks for looking, I have a lease car that I am returning in a couple of months, I wanting to get this scratch sorted just below the boot - it isn't chrome but it is silver in colour - shall I use someone like chips away or is there anything I can use to do it myself?

Don't bother. The cost of having it repaired will be more than the charges for the scratch and there's always the chance that it will be picked up as a substandard repair and charged again. Just clean it and polish it and make sure the car's as clean and tidy as possible. They may even waive a charge if that's the only blemish.

The other school of thought is not to wash it for the next 2 months, the amount of crap off winter roads will hide it nicely hehe

If you want to try something youurself then a colour matched Chipex kit will probably do it. I've used it before on minor chips and scratches and found it to be pretty good.
