A couple of friends and I have reached 50 this year. We've been talking about taking a small trip in UK to get off our backsides and be more active. It would probably be mid-November so conscious of weather.

Current thoughts are travelling from home in Hampshire to Snowdonia (via Caffeine and Machine) and walking. Whilst probably a good adventure, it's spending a lot of time on roads rather than the great outdoors.

Other options would be to walk along the Jurassic coast but not sure of stop-off points etc. Also discussed joining an organised motorbike ride through Wales.

Has anyone done a fun challenge in UK they can recommend?

Thanks

If you do decide on Snowdonia you have to go to Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog where you can drive on the beach.

We were there last month and at this time of year it's very empty!

Don't go when it's hot though, pain in the arse if it's full of people. If you do the zipline then you can also do a slate mine tour which is interesting, if you like industrial history, and they have (had?) a downhill mountain bike place at the same site.

There is also a cracking road to drive on the way back to England (B3491? maybe?) with some great twisties.

Other ideas - NC 500, but not in November. Cider tour round the West Country? Cornwall and Devon are quiet out of season.

You don’t have to go far, what about walking all or part of The South Downs Way or cycling the King Alfreds Way?
