What is the hotter version of the Abarth? 
To be fair you can get the Abarth 595 in different states of tune. A boggo 140 t jet would only be considered warm whereas a 180 comp hot?
For me the answer would be a swift sport. Warm performance but great drive and handling. Budget gets a much newer one than a VW.
Depends if size matters?

Well the thought pattern is if I can find a model down from the hot hatch which still retains the same handling ability , it may allow me to get a younger model for possibly a bit less money,it’s finding that car be it ford, Honda or whatever where the hot hatch version shares the same handling setup with a lower model, for instance the Clio Rs sharing the same handling characteristics as the GT ect. In a nutshell less power, same handling, for a little less cash and maybe a few years younger.For me the answer would be a swift sport. Warm performance but great drive and handling. If handling is the top priority then I'd say take a very good look at the 1.6T Astra GTC, it comes with the same suspension set up as the VXR minus the adjustable dampers & camber/toe settings but it's a good steer.So Iam looking for a warm hatch alternative to its hot hatch brother,

You have to go for the 1.6T Astra GTC the regular Astra doesn't get the same setup & they're very much a good handling car, they're a better steer than the Kia & will be on par with the Alfa chassis wise.The 1.4T's run the standard setup so don't buy one of those thinking you're getting the same thing.
