Aluminium handbrake handle - fits DB7 DB7V DB9
Discussion
Sourced new, unused, made for AM aluminium handle, hoping it would fit my DB7 Vantage. It fits and cost less than prices quoted online by AM parts suppliers.
The original black DB7V handbrake lever handle came off easily, with a pair of surgical gloves on the hands for grip. A few carefully forceful twists and off it was (the original DB7V handle is basically rubberised plastic). It’s not glued on, literally secured via the tightness of fit.
The aluminium handbrake handle fitted nicely on to the handbrake lever using similar controlled strength to twist and push it on, although I used a very light slither of moly grease to help get it on. Certainly no adhesive required, to fit either the original or the Aluminium handles - it’ll never come off, unless forced off.
The aluminium handle fits and looks really good. There is is a slight gap (approx. 3 cm) between the end of the leather handbrake lever sleeve and the start of the AM handbrake handle. The gap is no big unsightly issue though, as you can see on my attached images.
However, if you pursuing perfection, a solution for what is a 3cm gap between the end of the leather handbrake sleeve and the start of the Aluminium handle… is the local specialist auto trimmer might tell sticking a piece of matching leather colour to the handbrake lever to make it look “factory” no problem and for not a lot.
Very pleased with this high quality AM upgrade.

Matching leather colour could be tricky, unless it's black. But another thought is a 3cm piece of chrome-plated tube.It takes me back to my TVR days when everyone was replacing the black plastic bits with aluminium!
