Hi…bought a English style front vanity plate for my new Vantage. There are 2 holes in the hunter style mesh grill bu can someone advise
how to mount the plate? Do you us plastic clips or some sort of screw? Much thanks from the states.

The current UK Vantage uses a plate holder/plinth. The holes in the grille are for this and then the plinth has its own holes with a slightly different position to screw the actual plate on.

Of course, you could just drill your plate to match the existing holes...

Much cleaner looking with double sided tape instead of screws.

Don’t think that will work on mesh screen

Buy the Swiss number plate mount if it is a short reg and a shortvreg plate, it is about £117, part number escapes me. It mounts using the same points as the uk one. Be warned the mounting hardware is all plastic.

The issue if you mount to the mesh is the plate points downwards and looks weird, I also would not trust the tape on the mesh due to the lack of surface area.

My plate is the double sided on the plinth as I hated the thought of drilling holes in my plates.

I've never seen that before, but have instant want! I have a personal reg that is 5 characters and would like the smaller plate.

Is the part/part number different for the new Vantage do you know? I've found them available to buy online for the previous gen but not our cars.

Cheers

Plinth wise the part number - KY63-17A835-CA

My plates were from fourdot, but they were right at the start of the shorter plate trend and pricey, good quality though.

Fantastic, thanks very much! Did you manage to get it from your dealer? I can only find it on Scuderia parts online

Another example of how our tastes differ. Nothing wrong with that at all, because it adds to the variety of life.

I too have a couple of 5 character plates, both happen to contain a 1, so that shortens the length of the marks even more.
However, they are both on standard size plates.
My own reasoning for that being, that the blank area of the plate gives emphasis to the short length of the actual mark.
Double sided tape has been fine, although not involving a mesh grille.

I don't know whether they still do it, but I used Halfords to make the plates, because their legal print required is almost invisible, making the entire background appear completely plain.

I am a fan of dateless plates, to slightly confuse the age of my old cars. Fortunately they were all obtained many years ago, at very modest prices.

All rather nerdy. Men in white coats might be calling, smile but thought you might be interested.
