I'm considering buying a Blackbird to do a bit of touring on and wondered how long the tank range is at "interesting" speeds.

Also, any opinions on the weird linked brake thing would be appreciated too.

Cheers all. :)

I get about 165 miles from a tankfull - mixed riding. The bike has only 5k miles on the clock and the economy is supposed to improve with a few miles clocked up.

The linked brakes are fine.

Get one!

A mate said years ago that they make awesome road bikes, and they're comfy 2 up. So all in, that doesn't sound bad.

At the moment, my standard GSXR600 fuel light starts flashing at around 95 miles.

My 'bird was a weekend toy and i only took it out on dry days to thrash the tits off it, so cant give you much guidance on mpg - just stuck in a tenner, had a blast, put it away!
Great bike though - just goes far too fast far too easily!
The linked brakes never caused a problem to me - I actually had a lot of confidence in them, but apparently 'real' bikers dont like them as it removes some control when on the edge.
Not an issue for me though, I rode fast but within my limits, which were obviously less than the bikes....

Review of Blackbird / ZX12 / 'busa in recent or latest Superbike might be worth having a look at.
