I've recently sold my MK3 Focus RS as it just wasn't being used and I had a decent offer land on my lap so I made a quick decision and the car was collected about 4 weeks ago.

I'm now after something else, that is still fast but is perhaps more comfortable and dare I say, mature?

It needs to be 4 or 5 door and 0-60 under or as close to 5 secs as possible. I'm leaning towards an F30 335D as it ticks a lot of boxes in terms of practicality, economy and speed. A Golf R is also on my radar but there is something I can't put my finger on as to why I'm not keen on them...

Budget is £20k-£25k. What am I missing??

I have an Audi S5 that would fit that criteria. Stage 1 will take it to 400bhp, you have 4WD, a nice cabin to sit in the practicality of a large(ish) car. Mine is the sportback as I needed 4 doors.

Steering feel is very lacking and I wouldn't call it exciting albeit quick. Worth a look though!

Crucial question is how many l miles will you be doing a year? This might make a 335d a really poor choice if you’re not going far.

I swapped my mk3 Focus RS for a (6.2) C63 estate. My C63 went three years ago and I have seller's remorse most days. I rarely think about my RS and I owned it for two years.

My mileage was only 5000ish miles a year so didn't notice much difference in running costs.

Currently looking at quick estates again and I do lots of short journeys and still under 10,000 miles a year so diesel doesn't suit my needs. Are you driving longer journeys and a decent mileage per year for the diesel benefit?

Volvo V60 Polestar.

Infiniti Q50 3.0 TT.

They will never match a diesel for economy. The Infiniti has 400bhp and nobody would guess. There is a 66 plate with less than 30k miles on AT for £18k. Not the best dealer selling though.
