Hi,
Im currently looking into the purchase of an S1 elise.
What should I look out for? eg. Cam belt services/whishbones etc.
Im looking around the 11k mark and want as few miles as possible, possibly leather but its not a biggie. Any hints + tips on what to look for would be a great help,
Thanks in advance.

loads of info on www.elises.co.uk and www.elise-faq.com and if you do a search on here
Belts are 4 years.
Make sure it has a full service history. It doesnt matter if it hasnt been looked after by a main dealer all the time as a lot of the specialists are probably better.
Also have a look at the tyres. You wil be looking at at least £350 for a new set of decent rubber if they need replacing.

Mish,
Check if the car has had it's "c" service or not.
A bargain might bite you on the bum if you need to drop £1500 on it's next service!
Don't let me worry you though. If it's been well maintained a "c" service need not be too expensive, particularly from a independent.
I paid around £800 for mine last year and that was with 4 new tyres, a toe link tube, full geo check and a few other bits and bobs, bargain! (Horizon Motorsport)
Check things like disks and pads, steering rack and gators, dampers, tyres. All these could need addressing at about 30,000 miles
You'll get a good feeling about the right car and the right seller.
The S1 Elise does come with lots of creaks, squeaks and is quite "crashy" over bumps, so drive as many as you can to get a feel for what is "standard" and what is abnormal.
Have fun looking.
Dunc
