Is this for real? I enjoy painting but this programme is just getting silly. Some of the "winners" are nowhere near a likeness. Latest episode, there was a Nigerian guy, his portrait was brilliant, another young girl actually photographed the model, printed it the right size for the canvas and copied the relevant features/outlines onto the canvas using carbon paper thereby getting the basics accurate. Another guy started painting from scratch no initial drawing. His pic was good too.
Guess which won? Yes the pretty girl with the carbon copy.
Another contestant was completing the portrait using embroidery, no possibility of getting her work finished in 4 hours.
And the three judges don't half talk a load of twaddle.

Been following it for a number of seasons now.

The number of times I guess who will win it - it about the same as the leftfield WTF!!! moments.

But. - you have to remember it is a TV show. It is designed to get you talking in social media.

One of our favourite shows. But can’t believe that pretty much all the contestants photograph the sitters, and then use their iPads / laptops to copy from. Might as well not have the subject there!

And agree about the girl who traced the image, even Stephen Mangan commented.
