Appreciate it varies depending on time of year due t the mix of leaf and source in the bags, but recently found the go to Yorkshire gold a bit weak, as have been my other go to's Miles westcountry and Cornish tea co.

Used to get Twinings strong english breakfast but is pricey for what it is, and like Thompsons blends but again pricey.

Any recommendations from folk for basic builders tea BAGS that isn't too pricey that actually has a bit of flavour (Typhoo, tetley, pg all taste of nothing imo in recent samplings)

As a kid Dilmah used to be great but don't believe they sell it in UK anymore.

Gunpowder loose tea makes a good cup, I allow myself 1/2 tsp. of organic granulated.

I've tried every tea under the sun (I drink tea like Tony Benn did!).
Always liked tea, ever since a kid collecting cards in the Brooke Bond 'loose tea' packets.
Whatever happened to Horniman's Tea? I always liked that too, or maybe it was the free picture cards again? Yeah, that was in the 1950s. I wonder how much tea I've drunk to date? LOL

Brooke Bond of old was great, I still drink if pushed PG Tips 'but' it has to be 'on offer' or I don't buy (I ask myself what does a washing machine powder company know about tea? Unilever, Proctor & Gamble, doesn't inspire much confidence does it to put it down your gullet?
Actually, I forgot, PG Tips is now owned by Ekaterra, so-called British company operating in the Netherlands, I think still under Unilever. Believe they also own Lipton, Pukka, T2, Tazo and Red Rose Tea.

Yorkshire Gold 'used' to be one of the best. Too dear now as it's hardly recognisable to what it was.

Smugglers' Brew (just bought some more actually while 'in' Cornwall last week on holiday - I thought it would be cheaper there... nah, paid £4.99 for 80 bags!

Asda 'cheapie' Everyday tea is ok if you're short of cash. Used to be just £1.90 for 240 bags, probably gone up now.

One of the best teas imo is Waitrose Organic Duchy 'English Breakfast'. (other teas in the range like Lemon & Ginger etc).
Not cheap at £1.99 for just 25 sealed bags, but it's really good. With Waitrose bringing back their instore 'Free' coffee or tea (most go for coffee - I don't mind coffee, but we seem to have turned into Americans and down it by the gallon), but you can have tea and sometimes they put out the Duchy bags, so worth trying before you spend. Free drink returns on 7 November for those interested.

Now to the bargain BEST tea imo.
LIDL's Deluxe Breakfast Tea (on a par with Twinings Breakfast tea but far far cheaper!)
Other Deluxe varieties like Assam etc available.
95p for 50 bags. I wait until it's on one of their offers usually around 70p and buy several boxes.

Funnily enough I was complaining about Yorkshire tea gold this week as well.

M&S gold is my fave.

Tesco used to do a Captain Scott (of the Antarctic) tea bag which was superb, but that was dropped a good few years back.
