Help..........................please
Discussion
Hi folks,
Well, the car is sprayed, headlights on, etc etc....
Put the bonnet bits back on, lined them up....perfect, shut the bonnet, perfect lines.
:banghead: CANT OPEN IT.
Tried pulling the lever, nothing. Tried pulling the wire connecting to the lever with pliers, nothing. :banghead:
Anyone know how to do it? Thanks in advance. :D

I think this is a two man job,
One pulls the lever whilst the other pushes and pulls the bonnet around
Option 2
It is possible the reach the catches from the wheel arch, you just have to remove the liner first but as you have had yours of it should be easy
Cheers Pies, we tried option one, to no avail. But option 2 sounds a good one as the inner liners are off.
Thanks.

Mike,
Be careful pulling the bonnet, you can damage the fibreglass around the pins. Mine has jammed in the past and was released by driving the car. The pot holes on GB's roads and pulling on the lever sorted it out!
Christian.
Cheers Christian, pop in tomorrow if you have time for a cup of tea and a laugh, I shall be there until about 1700 ish.
As the adjustment of the front pins to re-align the bonnet is the culpret for it sticking, then slackening them off again should mean that with some jiggling you should get it to pop up again.
Mine has done the same and think I once sorted it by undoing the pins again then re adjusting.
Mine aint straight but it opens only when I want it to so I have left well alone.

I had this recently and had to enlist the help of 3 workmates - one to hold the lever, one to pull on the bonnet where the bonnet stay is and the other to pull / push at the front of the bonnet - I was merely in the background shouting "BE GENTLE" took about 20mins but popped open eventually, re adjusted the stay and been fine since.
Just had same problem this weekend, seems my bonnet has moved slightly, tooks 2 men, one pulling lever one jiggling bonnet. Turns out bonnet had moved a little on offside so when shut the catch part was trapped against the bonnet pin so we had to pull the bonnet towards the windscreen, then just popped open. not fixed yet so just doing that when need to open.
