I’m trying to help my elderly father-in-law set up mobile banking on his Virgin money account
It reads as though you can set up the mobile app with a pass code being sent to the phone but following the set up through leads to asking for an internet banking password which he doesn’t have as he has not set this up.
Question for anyone with online banking with Virgin - do you need to set up internet banking first then the mobile app? If I understand this I’ll hopefully be able to sort him or take him into branch if needed
Thanks in advance

I have been though this with my kids . One kid sorted in secs no issues.
Other kid never got the text with a code. Turned out his primary phone number wasnt his mobile.
Still didnt work after that.
Spent 30 mins in bank and still no solution. The system couldnt see his account or something.
They suggested a new account.

I tried to set up a Virgin account earlier in the year & failed. Just ended up in a dead-end after ploughing through many screens.
I was in the Virgin office & asked for assistance.
Apparently I gave the wrong answer when asked if I had a Virgin account. The story I was given is that Virgin have 3 legacy systems (Virgin, Clydesdale & Yorkshire) & all new accounts are on the live (new) system. So I should have said "No" as my Virgin account was on the legacy system.
Ended up with NatWest.
