Hi All,

We have a kitchen with limited space in terms of work surfaces.

For some time, I've wanted an Air Fryer, but my better half says that having one would take up too much space.

Our (large) Microwave is now on the blink and I thought it might be an opportunity to replace it with an Air Fryer/Microwave - a kind of 'all-in-one' combination device.

Is there anything that you kind folk might recommend, that can do the job of a microwave and air fryer ? (The microwave that we have, is used almost exclusively for heating milk and sauces and occasional defrosting).

Out of interest, can an air fryer be used for toast ? If so, I could get rid of the toaster at the same time, which would be a result.

Thank you.

Short answer ... yes

Long answer ... in the end it's just a small oven running at 200-210C with a very short warm up time. Stick a few slices of bread into your main oven at 210C ... see how you like the toast.

BTW, it's going to take a while wink

We never had a microwave or toaster for years, we still don't have a toaster but our new house has a microwave built into the kitchen. Pretty easy to live without both tbh, although by the same token it's probably pretty easy to live without an air fryer so this hasn't been very helpful laugh

If you're going to get an air fryer, consider an 'all in one' that can pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, fry/roast etc as well. Instant Pot and Ninja do them, among others. I have the Instant Pot Pro Crisp which has a pressure cooker lid, and an air fryer lid. We use it a lot for things like porridge, roasting joints of meat, boiling eggs, boiling veg etc. Though they have not just released a new Ultimate model that does it all with just the one lid. If I was buying again then that's the one I'd choose.

My mum has just bought a countertop air fryer oven and likes it for chips and made a pie in it but says the toast is not acceptable.

Toaster stays.

this air fryer makes excellent toast and pizza, and it folds upright to save space when not being used, plus you get all the energy savings you would expect from an air fryer v an oven

We have a Sage microwave / convection oven / air fryer and it's absolutely fantastic.

This fella https://www.sageappliances.com/uk/en/products/micr...

Had it a few years now. It kept us going single handedly for about 2 months when our kitchen was re done and it's been so good we have not got rid of it even though the new kitchen includes a built in microwave. Re-heated PizzaHut pizza in the air fryer is a particular addiction I am struggling with paperbag
