996, 911, carrera 2, "slightly modded" by some unkown german outfit.

26mpg, pics availible if required.

I thought I would try and tempt buyers from the dark side and let prospective porsche owners see what they can return.

My mate has a audi S4R, gets 16mpg MAXIMUM, 12mpg is standard.

so if we are playing trumps, I beat him on, 0-60, top speed, corner speed, etc etc etc etc etc. and most importantly of all It doesent look like M25 on a monday morning, and the girls like it alot as a side benifit.

and yes you guessed it, hes gutted :)

My car is a NON TURBO, this is why it returns these miles, if everyone else shares their MPG it could make prospective porsche owners warm to the alliance :D

Thanks

Usual to get 22-24 mpg between tankfuls with my 996TT.

It achieved a respectable 34 mpg on a 180 mile trip from gloucs to norfolk sticking to whatever the legal speed limit was for the road I happened to be on.

need more, 5mpg is ok in a "supercar" no?

if you have a porsche, tell us your true mpg, I admit I was sticking to all speed limits, on a 300 mile trip but i imagine it will go up over the coming days as I have lots of miles to cover.

and ill be taking it easy just for this thread :P

Hiya.

993tt with 450 bhp upgrade - best mpg I've seen from it was, funnily enough, when my wife drove it. She got the average down to around 20 mpg. I average 14 to 15 mpg commuting and significantly less on summer evening blats.

But hell, I didn't buy it set economy records so who cares. We've got to enjoy them before they become illegal .....

nel, i want your car.

ooo i want

I "might" get a air cooled late 993 but dont tell the wifey

my company pays for fuel, so MPG is in the interest of biz, post your true MPG so non believers can see what we enjoy

and yes, i also diden't buy mine to spout lemon about its MPG but I was very suprised when i seen the outcome, thats why I started this thread!

POST YOUR MPG!

Stock 993tt

27-28 mpg-long distance commute from country to work.
More like 22 mpg in town.
I can also get around 27-28 at 75 mpg-steady but goes down to about 24 mpg keeping with the usual flow of fast traffic on the M1.
The naturally aspirated 993 really SHOULD be more economical...

Last week did 1000 miles thru Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Germany in my standard 993tt. Included quite a few mountain passes, slow town driving (not much) and autobahn (with blats up to 150mph) crusing regularly at 120mph. Computer says about 23mpg average.

19-21 in mixed driving. Its much more slurpy than I expeted for a relatively small engine/car. Not much better than the XJR I think the Tiptronic is a couple of mpg more thirsty than a manual.

FWIW, my 993 Targa Tiptronic S returns an average of 25 mpg on Optimax, with a 60:40 ratio mix of motorway:A road use at the top end of the legal limit most of the time. Despite living in SE London, I don't do much town mileage, keeping the car for longer journeys. I thought I might get slightly better mileage figures on these, but I've only once seen a trip registering 27 mpg.

My old 911 2.0 E gives around 15mpg when you are enjoying it on A roads, and almost 21mpg when you are crusing on french motorways. Shows what later aerodynamics and efficient engines do for you.

Ok after a "spirited" few laps of Bedford and a slightly less "spirited" journey there and back the score board says 20.3mpg. Obviously not trying hard enough....

If you go back a few years to the "Petrol Crisis" I had to go to a meeting in Reading and the only car that had any petrol in it was my Mk1 GT3. After a bit of experimentation (I was bored) the most economical crusiing speed was 90mph when it pulled down 38.7mpg.

Well that was my excuse when I got stopped anyway...

Blimey Rup - I know by comparison that my commute is short and on lots of little roads, but your petrol consumption figures are still pretty damned good. Have you sellotaped an egg to the bottom of your right foot? Maybe I should stop giving her the full beans every time the road clears, but it just seems to make me smile!
