Hoping to go and see some friends near Vancouver next year, and I'd quite like to finally tick an A380 off my list having managed to avoid them somehow for the last 15 years, but I'm not sure if anyone still operates a 380 on any UK to YVR routes? Anyone know please?

British airways do, on their summer schedule. No winter flights.

I thought they had dropped the 380 on that route, thank you.

They did, during covid when they temporarily mothballed the whalebus fleet.

They used an A380 from June to September this year, but some random dates in July next year are showing an A350 for BA85. That could very easily change though.

I flew on the BA A380 to Vancouver in September. I don’t know what it is about the use of a 380 on that route but it’s habitually late. It was on time 3 times in June, twice in July, August was a good month at 10 and then 4 times in September. So on time 19 times out of 122 flights.

Just build it into your plans if you’re dead set on using the route.

BA used the 747s on that route pre Covid, then retired them. I think they are mostly using the 350s now, or trying to.

Not been an A350 since February.
