Water leak, gulp

Took the car out this evening and after some hard driving and then slowing down in the village where I live, SMOKE. After a quick look around with the engine off, water dripping from under the bonnet :eek: luckily I was only a couple of hundred yards from home so I crawled into the garage in the dark. Tommorow I will have a good look under the bonnet and see if anything looks out of the ordinary. I will check the water level and run it until it is at operating temperature and see what I can come up with. Any ideas, please! will be appreciated, oh the water temperature stayed at 90 degrees throughout, so I am hoping it was dumping a bit of pressure.

If the guage stayed at 90 then reckon you dumped a bit from the expansion tank onto the exhaust perhaps.
Top up and don't think you will have a problem.

Wish mine would stay at temperature, my guage jumps around everywhere!

Swirl Tank Pressure Cap failure?
That would account for the steam, but no temp increase.

Thanks for your ideas lads, most welcome and interesting. I had a look around after topping up and running it to operating, bingo tiny split on hose , from the block to the swirl chamber right next to the jubilee clip, new hose to pick up and back on the road again. I am glad it didnt happen on the way home from SCH3. Thanks again lads, much appreciated.
