slow off the start!!

my 1990 s3 seems to run alrite (although nothing special!) and pulls well from 3500rpm but seems dead lower down the rev range and especially form a standing start. i could never do a burn out!!!

anyone have any ideas, or know any tune up specialists in the essex area or surrounding countys.

i want to turn it into a beast!!

Is the ignition too advanced, or has the dizzy vacuum advance got stuck (don't know if the V6 has this, or a manual one), usually this would cause a little pinking as well though. How is the idle speed and starting.

Explain dead slower.... is it smooth, jerky, if you floor it in first how long does it take to hit the red line??

Where are you in Essex? I am in Maldon... if you want to meet up I will gladly take you outin mine and you can see if it is the same as yours...

The cars are deceptive and you do pick the speed uo quicker than you think but to be honest you do need to rev the nuts off them for the best results

I live in essex, had mine re-tuned by mike at rallytech. He used to work for ford and I beleive helped design the engine in the s2/ s3. He worked absolute wonders on my S1 and is the best tuner in this area.
He will take his time though and is not cheap, a retune for mine (needed some work) was about £550 and took 10 days although had to wait for a new part to be delivered. He will run diagnostics on every single part of your engine and get it running to the exact ratio to what it should be, An absolute perfectionist, he refused to give back my car until running 100% perfect and did not charge for the extra time he had it. Its an absolute different car now only prob is now i want a bigger engine so he can work magic on that.
