I mean obviously 16500 batteries are easy enough to find but I can't seem to find one with the cable attached.

It may (probably is) be that my Google skills fall short but could do with one pretty sharpish, even better if I can get a rechargeable one with a charger. I also don't want to buy the wrong thing/rating etc etc and damage the equipment it's going in to.

Could go back to supplier but it'd take weeks.

Any help really appreciated!

Also what’s the model of the thing it came from

Sometimes cheaper to buy the whole item and swap battery

What's the part code of the unit it's out of ?

Search for this rather than the battery

Eg Visonic ST1 battery

You won't damage the unit if the voltage is the same

Or take it into a branch of ADI

Oh I know what it's come from as we sell them, the supplier just can't get any to me for weeks apparently.

Presumably for the same reason I can't find any online.

Cut-off the heartstrings and see what it is. Maybe easy enough to disconnect the part the cable attaches to and reconnect to a new cell

That connector is known as a JST connector. JST is a standard, not a single item, so you get them with varying numbers of wires and male or female connectors.

Have a look at the list of standard Lithium-Ion Cell sizes halfway down the page here:
Li-Ion standard cell sizes

This is probably the size of cell you have: Tensai 16500 Li-Ion cell

The important bits are the physical dimensions (length & diameter) plus the voltage, as far as fitting in and working your object are concerned. Only by buying from a reputable souce can you be sure that you are getting a decent cell. A lot of Ebay sellers seem to be offloading sub-standard cells, often with wildly exaggerated capacities.
