Anyone got tracking done at Halfords or similar place?

It's got little to do with the name above the door and more to do with the person actually doing it so generalising the entire company based on experiences with individual members of staff seems wrong, but it's what we do I suppose

Just like wheel balancing - a Kwik Fit guy can do a great job if they understand the principles of what they are doing, or a complete bodge if they don't or do not know how to operate the machine properly.

I have had Hunter four-wheel tracking done twice to my XF in the time I have owned it. On the first occasion I spotted that the equipment operator had mistakenly chosen the settings for a left-hand-drive model on his computer and would have blissfully done a very accurate but very wrong job had I not pointed it out to him before he started making adjustments.

Again, nationwide centres so may find differences branch to branch. Why not give your local depot a call in the morning, suss them out? Even if they have all the toys, they may not have the talent in the branch / time you're in etc etc. If you're in doubt, why not seek out you local dedicated alignment centre of choice rather than go down the Fast Fit route? Though the latter could potentially end up doing a better job. Minefield.

Any alignment is only as good as the operator regardless of the equipment they are using.

If you gave an indication of where you are you may get some more useful input.
