Why does it put people off the see someone riding a bike which is for sale?
For some it would have been on their 3 mile private drive way, acceptable without helmet? Others don’t have that luxury or ability to take it to a private Carpark to show it running.

Riding without the helmet is one offense, riding a bike without it the required paperwork and insurance are a few more, then the icing on the cake is riding it on the pavement.
When servicing and maintaining my bike, I have taken it for a few meters run without a helmet on, but if you are going to prepare a video for thousands to watch, I think it’s worth at least attempting some degree of legality. Otherwise one may think that the seller is not adverse to illegal activity in his pursuit of his trade

Given that the Police don’t have resources to investigate burglaries/thefts I very much doubt this would feature anywhere on their radar. Imagine how ludicrous it would be if somebody watched the video and a) decided to make a complaint to the police, b) the police actually used resources to investigate it, and c) how the conversation with the CPS would go. I think the seller can sleep easy, thankfully.Like others, I was expecting the seller to pull a wheelie or something equally “reckless”. If I was interested in the bike, the listing/video would not put me off.

Tbh, I wouldn’t assume that. May as well say anyone who has ever broken a speed limit is likely fiddling their tax return.We live down a wee single track road and several of the neighbours own bikes and it’s not uncommon on a weekend day to see one of us testing a repair up and down the road without kit. No big deal IMO.
