Help needed please!

If I have a sheet, say 300x400mm with a gsm of 400 and there are x1500, what is the formula to estimate the weight of the total amount, please?

So this is to work out the total weight of x1500 sheets of thick paper/thin card which are 300x400mm in size and have a density of 400 grams per sq metre.

Can't seem to find the right converter online...

(I'm guessing something like 140Kg??)

gsm = grammes per square meter

Therefore:
Work out the area of each sheet in m2
Multiply sheet area by the gsm value to get mass per sheet (grammes)
Multiply mass per sheet by quantity of sheets for total mass (divide by 1000 for kg)

Work out the weight of one:

0.3x0.4x400=48g

Multiply that by the quantity and convert to kg:

48x1500/1000=72kg

Its 8.3 sheets to the sq m.

Each sheet is 0.12 sq meters,so thats 48 g per sheet.

So 1500 sheets is 72 kg.

Beaten to to it, but luckily we agree ! :-)

0.3 x 0.4 = 0.12 m2
0.12 x 400g/m2 = 48g
48 x 1500 = 72000g = 72kg
