Trying to find the best value flights to LAX from the UK, going in either Jan or Feb '23 and spending 7-10 days there.
We're getting a bit fed up with Skyscanner. Wading through the choice of routings, stopovers etc etc and then pinning down prices that seem to change from one minute to the next feels like juggling oysters. We're very much not wedded to specific dates so what we'd love to be able to do is ask a site for non-date specific quotes for Jan and Feb ranked by cost (cheapest first), but we haven't been able to find anywhere offering that facility. We're having to put in specific dates all the time and then repeat the process for each new departure date which is a pain.
Need to try and keep the costs down but would spring for some extra space if it's not too much extra cash. Ideally direct although we live in Wales and our nearest airport is Bristol so there'd be substantial extra travel/parking costs if we went from London. We would take a 2-3hr stopover somewhere if it made economic sense.
We would very much appreciate some wisdom from the more seasoned travellers on here as to the best websites for this sort of exercise.
Thanks in advance for any advice you might be able to offer.

Google flights seems to be the best I can find and I have played with a few.
Start with the explore bit to see if options other than LAX are better then look at the dates and price graph for best options. A quick look showed economy return for £430 ish.
Can take a bit of time to get familiar with but does show some good options.

Thanks, we are definitely up for any west coast alternatives to LAX if there are any whizzbang deals to be had.
We'll be looking for good car rental deals too.

Yes it's very frustrating. Similar with online travel operators. Just tell me when in early Spring is the best deal to Bangkok with business seats!!

The Google Flights suggested by mikiec does flash up all the daily prices in monthly blocks which is great.

This.

Google flights is my go to site for finding flights. Then book direct with the airline.

Have you considered going via Dublin with Aer Lingus. Usually they have competitive prices plus you clear US immigration in Dublin. That said, baggage handling in Dublin is absolutely dreadful, so the risk of arriving in LA without luggage is heightened.

Yes I was wondering about that until you added the bit about dodgy handling! smile

Definitely Google flights or if you’re feeling adventurous try the ITA matrix search.

Google flights (edit) you can enter multiple starting and end points which is handy. Use the fare chart to see if amending your dates makes things any cheaper.

Is that on Google flights for Jan and Feb? I didn't see anything that low.

What's the best you are seeing, for which airports, airline and dates.

I'd just like to stick my head in the door and doff my cap to those who mentioned google flights. Like the OP I'd been using skyscanner for cheapest flights to mexico on whatever date is cheapest and it's an utter piss-boiler of a site for all the reasons mentioned. Getting prices from £500 to £5000 which seem to change randomly by a grand each time you refresh the page irked. How you can manage to fk up a website so badly to be unusable is beyond me.
