Scamming a scammer
Discussion
I've received a lovely asking price offer for my Lotus Elise roof via Facebook messenger.
The buyer is very keen and also is very busy, as he cannot collect it in person, but he will be sending a shipping agent.
He has 'my' address and email (an old one for junk newsletters and such). The plan is for the agent to arrive at my house tomorrow and give me cash.
The only snag is, it seems I need to cover the initial insurance fee now, which will be reimbursed by cash payment on collection...
So far I've ignored this and told my chap that I've received another asking price offer and would he be willing to pay more?
Ideas please folks.

The main issue you have in scamming the scammer is that the actual goods don't matter and the agent doesn't exist.
It's all about that initial payment.
Everything you do, has to be about your ineptitude at making the payment, to the point where ideally they give you their bank account details.
So ask how to pay and fail.
Ask again and fail.
Keep being really keen, sending screen shots (random googled images of bank accounts and transfers etc.) and ultimately failing.
It think that's all you have to work with.
Keep us posted however

Use his email to sign up for gay news letters and viagara deals.
I’d imagine they have a disposable email address for each person they are trying to scan, the second they are getting nowhere with you the email account will be droppedMakes it easier when you have 20 scams on the go.
If everyone they contacted wasted 20 minutes of their time, they’d not be able to reach to vulnerable folk as quickly and overall their scam will be less effective
Sadly I think I'm rumbled. My obvious ineptitude, the fact his email has been spammed 1000 times in the last 24 hours and I'm suddenly not getting replies.
I've gone bold and told him I left the roof out and it's gone, but I can't find the cash. I think this opens an avenue for theft, threats of police reports etc. and some more creative documentation to send over.
