A while ago my seats suddenly developed Alzheimer’s and the memory stopped working all together , although the manual buttons did.

The extent of my knowledge was to check the fuses (all good) but couldn’t see a problem so I decided to live with it - after all my wife rarely drives it and in fact it has rarely been used this year.

Anyway, I took it Aston Works in Beamish to have a window regulator replaced and the works manager Chris told me a good fix for seat memory problem when I mentioned it to him.

So if it happens to your car what you have to do is - using the switches move the passenger seat as far forward as it will go, then as far up as it will go then the seat back as far back as it will go.

Next step is to move the seat as far back as it will go, move the seat-back forward as far as it will go and then the seat up as far as it will go.

It actually worked and both seats have their memory back! (Vantage V8 coupe MY2010)

If only it worked for me too I’d be delighted!

Thats the standard procedure for re-initialising the seats after a battery replacement or a flat battery.
