I have a yellow 'Casioak' Casio G Shock GA-2110SU-9AER, which I bought on 21/11/2020 and I never wear it.

I'm too old to understand how to use all the functions and I can't read the digital display anyway ( frown )

Consequently, it's pretty much in as-new condition; boxes, paperwork, retail tags and all. It's never been registered with Casio for the warranty.

Given we're facing a 'cost of living crisis' and given not everyone on PH is a powerfully-built company director, I thought that somebody may have need of, or otherwise benefit from a free watch.

So here's my proposal:

I don't want anyone to embarrass or prostrate themselves but if an as-new watch (rrp £109, I believe) would be appreciated, then let me know. By all means PM me if you wish, rather than posting in public, and whilst I don't want to be intrusive, let me know why. I have to decide on a 'winner' somehow and I don't just want to do first-come-first-served.

Whether it would ease cashflow at Christmas, help you out for a birthday or you want it for any other reason, if I think the reason is 'in the spirit' of my intention, then you can have the watch on me.

Let's put a closing date of end of 30th November, and I'll send it out asap thereafter.

Dust on the rubberised bezel

I've even put the strap through my ultrasonic bath. smile

No guarantees, warranty or returns. I'm doing this in the hope that it may help somebody. If you intend to take advantage of that and flip it on eBay then I hope karma comes knocking at your door soon afterwards. Do as you would be done by. smile

I really like the look of this (to the point where it's on my Christmas list) and I don't have a yellow G yet. But I'm fortunate enough so far that while I'm not a powerfully built rolex owner, I can't in any way say I don't have the means to just go and buy one, so it would be wrong of me to ask to go on the list.

If however, you decide to do a raffle or something and donate the proceeds to a suitable cause, then count me in!

Good luck with the venture though, it's a great idea.

I have the same one but in green and can only wear it in Summertime as I can't change the time on it, it just bleeps and flashes at me when I try to do anything with it. frown

Or the alternative could be raffle it on here and donate the money to little johnnys orphanage, Ukraine, cancer etc

Could do a vague eBay listing that is only posted here for something non descript and the highest bidder wins the raffle

Just a thought, very kind of you OP either way

I tried selling it on eBay. I advertised it as the cheapest one on there and repeatedly received offers for less. Like £18, £18.50 and so on, so I pulled the listing.

I thought about raffle for charity or whatever, but I don't want people putting their hands in their pocket for this. Many of us have the ability to make discretionary donations to charities of our choosing and I wanted to help out an invdividual without anyone having to pay for it. Except me... smile

Always fancied a G-Shock but never been motivated enough to put my hand in my pocket and buy one so I'll throw my hat in the ring. I don't know how you are going to pick a winner but if you are looking for a compelling story then I can only offer to do the same in 12 months, so if I am the chosen one I will repeat the process and pass it on again. Your G-shock could become the PH bike, everyone can have a go on it!

Good idea for the offer whatever you decide.clapthumbup

This, fair play Doofus for helping out with the nice gesture! Great idea, hoping it brings someone a bit of joy and financial relief in these uncertain times.

Nice gesture, but having people have to publicly (or privately) beg for something then you choose who is the 'most needing' doesn't sit well with me. Just give it to the first person who asks

I don't want anyone to 'beg'. I just want it go to a deserving home.

It's up to anyone who responds to decide what justification to offer. I'm trying to be helpful, and i'm not expecting anyone's life story.

Good idea, though how you'll choose... I have no idea.

What I will say is that this watch (I have one in the same colour) is a great looker on the wrist, I've worn mine loads this year!

I think it's a top idea and I hope it plays out in the spirit it's intended. Helping people in small ways.

Ditto.

Kinda like the idea of it becoming a "thing" and being passed to someone else on PH next year, and so forth - along with photos of what the watch has been up to with each custodian.

Edit: Although, that doesn't really scan with the Doofus's altruistic intentions.
