Any good driving routes to Loire Valley?

Hi folks,
As the title says really. Looking for good driving routes for the Tamora.
Taking the ferry to Bologne-sur-mer and heading down to the Loire Valley, probably Blois, for 4 or 5 days. Just camping so no hotels booked. Also looking for any nice villages/towns to stop off for lunch/dinner etc.
Don't really want to go straight down the A16 + A10.
Anyone done anything like this recently?

Boulogne to Blois is about 265miles.
Are you planning to stop overnight en route?
If not A16-A10 with a detour to Le Mans on the way is probably enough driving for one day.
If you want another distraction along that route. Stop and have a look at the cathedral in Chartres.
Even if you don't like churches, it's still pretty impressive.

Yep, someone has mentioned we stop there too.
I've just been to Le Mans with a few mates - not so sure my girlfriend will appreciate it as much as me!
Thanks for the suggestions. Will probably stop at some point on the way down, probably near Bologne as we get in at 20.05.
Anyone know any good places to stay near Bologne (camping or hotel) in the middle of nowhere preferably!
Go to Chambord aswell.

www.hotel-jean-de-bruges.com/ is very nice, in St. Riquier near Abbeville which is about 50mins south of Boulogne.
The second time I was there, I had to turn up in a lovely Toyota Corolla diesel instead of Trev because we'd broken down on the autoroute.
edited to add: definately go via Chartres instead of directly Rouen to Le Man. We went that way in May and the new autoroute wasn't opened yet. VERY SLOW AND BORING.

Mavellous - thanks for the recommendation. Have booked in their for the first night so pressure off to find somewhere to stay after getting into Bologne late.
Have you anything to recommend visiting in the morning? Otherwise will set off down to Blois/Chatres quite early.

Chateaux? See Chambord and Chenonceau, give the rest a miss... Clos Luce (Da Vinci's house) at Amboise was quite interesting...

Did Chanonceau in 2002, and Amboise, Chanont Sur Loire and Chambord this year
