Need to get some bottles in for Christmas so going to take advantage of Tesco's 25% off 6 or more. A few bottles of Barossa Ink Shiraz will be going in the basket but what else needs to go in there. Both white and red!

Tesco finest Montepulciano d'abruzzo (2019) - about £7 a bottle.
Perhaps not special enough for xmas?
but a very quaffable daily (IMHO)

Wife drinks the Oxford Landing Sauv Blanc at about 6.50, again, a good daily

BIg fan of the Barossa Ink Shiraz the other ones I got in the last 25% off were

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/296... - nice Malbec

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/266... - same MPDZ as others have recommended

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/309... - very nice Shiraz

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/306... - portugese red not as good as the others but cheaper and very drinkable

As above the Mpdz. Also had the Chianti Classico and Rioja Reserva recently and enjoyed them both.

We always like a bottle of CNdP or Amarone at Christmas. This is pretty good. For the cost of three pints down the pub, this is good value.

This x 1000

Also whilst you're by those shelves the Louis Jadot Macon-Villages is absolutely stonking.

I took the advice of this thread and purchased:
Tesco Finest Pouilly Fume -quite similar to Aldi New Zealand Marlborough- very decent.
Barossa Ink Shiraz- best red I’ve had for ages.
Jadot Macon villages- Not bad, not bad at all. Tastes expensive.
Montepulciano d'abruzzo (2019)- My god! Probably the one of the nicest reds I’ve ever tasted. And that includes a Chateaunerf du-pape 2002 at a Parisian cafe. So delicious. Depth of flavour. The way I imagine a good red to taste.
Thanks fellas. You broke me out of my Sauvignon Blanc/Shiraz bubble.
Mmmmmmm Shiraz bubble.

Thanks for the suggestions, grabbed a few of the Barossa Ink, MPDZ and Trivento Malbec. Couldn't see the Pouilly Fume but they had some Chablis on offer down to £11 from £15 so a couple of those went into the basket as well.

12 threads in and no-one has recommended the Petrus Cuvee de l'espace 2000 vintage or the Saint-Emilion 1947 Cheval Blanc wink

Why would we? We are sat at home drinking the stuff, with crisps and peanuts. I for one don’t want Tesco oiks drinking my wine. 😏
